Yonkers - Stanley P. Tvert of Yonkers died on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at the age of 78. He was born on February 13, 1939 to Irving and Bernice Tvert in the Bronx before moving to Yonkers, NY.
Mr. Tvert honorably served his Country in the Army and Air Force Reserves. Stanley worked for many years in the Garment District before being employed by The City of Yonkers in various capacities, including Director of Purchasing and Director of Special Projects for the Yonkers Police Department. Stanley was also a very active member of the Yonkers community as a little league baseball, basketball and soccer coach for the Comis and All Yonkers Youth Associations. His interest in volunteering in the community led him to serving on the City of Yonkers Human Rights Commission. Stanley also served on the Yonkers Public Schools Board of Trustees, proudly serving as Board President during his tenure.
Stanley is survived by his son Steven and wife Ana (Rocha); his son Scott and wife Jennifer (Cacciatore); his son Daniel; his brother Ronald and wife Meg; grandchildren Ava, Nicholas, Christopher and Matthew, as well as niece Lori and great-nephews Blake and Cole. Stanley's parents, Irving and Bernice, and his former wife Sharon (Stafford), predeceased him.
